Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 September 2026
Savour Society Pty Ltd (ABN 17 694 886 390) ("Savour Society", "we", "us", "our") operates savoursociety.com.au and the Savour Society membership. We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your personal information openly and in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access, correct or complain about the way we handle it. By using our website or joining the membership, you agree to the practices described here.
The information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact and delivery details — your name, email address, phone number, billing address and delivery address.
- Membership and order details — your membership status, drop history, delivery preferences, gift recipient details where you send a membership as a gift, and any notes you add to an order.
- Payment details — your payment is processed by our payment providers. We do not see or store your full card number. We receive a record of the transaction, the card type and the last four digits.
- Account details — your login credentials and saved preferences if you create an account.
- Correspondence — the content of emails, enquiry forms and messages you send us, including corporate and wholesale enquiries.
- Technical and usage information — your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit, how you arrived at our site, and how you interact with our emails.
You do not have to give us your personal information, but we may not be able to sell you a membership, deliver your drops or answer your enquiry without it.
How we collect it
We collect most personal information directly from you — when you join, create an account, buy a gift, subscribe to our mailing list, enter a competition or contact us. We also collect information automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use the website, and we may receive information from our service providers and advertising partners.
How we use it
We use your personal information to:
- process your membership, take payment on the scheduled billing dates, and manage renewals, pauses and cancellations;
- pick, pack and deliver your drops, and communicate with you about them;
- create and manage your account and respond to your enquiries;
- send you membership emails such as order confirmations, dispatch notices and billing notifications;
- send you marketing emails about drops, events and offers, where you have opted in;
- show you and people like you advertising on third-party platforms, and measure how that advertising performs;
- improve our products, website and service;
- detect and prevent fraud, and protect the security of our systems; and
- meet our legal and tax obligations.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and support our advertising.
We use the Meta pixel and Meta's Conversions API. This means that when you visit the site, add to cart or complete a purchase, information about that activity — including a hashed (scrambled) version of your email address and other contact details where available — is shared with Meta Platforms so we can measure our advertising and show relevant ads to you and to similar audiences on Facebook and Instagram. Meta handles that information under its own privacy policy.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can adjust how ads are targeted to you in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences. Turning off cookies may stop parts of our website working properly.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it with the service providers who help us run the business, including:
- Shopify — our ecommerce platform, which hosts the website and processes orders;
- Seal Subscriptions — which manages membership billing schedules and the member portal;
- Klaviyo — which sends our transactional and marketing emails;
- Meta Platforms — for advertising and measurement, as described above;
- our payment providers — to process payments and detect fraud;
- our delivery partners and couriers — to get your drop to you;
- our professional advisers — such as accountants and lawyers, where required.
We may also disclose your personal information where we are required or permitted to by law, or in connection with the sale or restructure of our business.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store and process personal information outside Australia. Shopify, Klaviyo, Seal Subscriptions and Meta are all likely to handle your information in the United States and in other countries where they or their subcontractors operate. Before disclosing your information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, but overseas recipients may be subject to different laws from those in Australia.
Marketing and how to opt out
If you have opted in, we will send you marketing emails. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us at welcome@savoursociety.com.au to opt out at any time. We will action your request promptly.
Opting out of marketing does not stop emails we need to send you about your membership, such as billing notifications and dispatch confirmations.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Our website and checkout run over encrypted connections, and access to member data is limited to people who need it.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send us over the internet. We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it — including to meet our record-keeping and tax obligations — and then destroy or de-identify it.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can view and update most of your details, including your delivery address and payment method, in your member portal. You can also ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing welcome@savoursociety.com.au.
We will respond within a reasonable period. We may need to verify your identity first. If we refuse your request, we will tell you why in writing.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us at welcome@savoursociety.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner on 1300 363 992 or at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The current version will always be available on this page, and we will update the date at the top.
